Taking “Get to know RoofArt. Discover Bessarabia” as our motto we decided to enter the backstage of the company, to show live its activity and of course our interaction with places and experiences typical to a Romanian land.
Our adventure started on a usual Thursday.
Armed with good mood, cookies and cheese pie we departed. Our 7-hour drive ended up being a 9-hour drive, but we safely arrived at the hotel. Our Moldavian colleagues invited us to dine so we immediately went for “Poiana Nucului” restaurant – a place cut off from all the city life. We filled our bellies with good food and tasted famous wines and after a couple of stories and pictures we decided it’s time to go to bed. However, a couple of “brave” ones sneaked out to see the late night city.
Next day in the morning our first stop was the gutters and downspouts factory RoofArt. We were taken by our colleagues from production and administration and the time passed by really quick between stories and demonstrations of the technological processes (punching machines for brackets and joints; the plane sheet preparing line; the gutter and downspout shaping line; pipe branch making equipment; bracket dyeing area; storage spaces etc.), following that we got on the bus and set for our next destination.
Our guide, Natalia, distracted us from the traffic on the road with her beautiful stories about the country’s history and recent events as well as showed us the most important architectural signatures of the city.
We were headed towards Cricova’s wineries and down there we uncovered another world. The wineries are actually construction stone mines, but for a long time are used for producing and storing the most famous and searched wines. The wine tasting was of course the cherry on the top of this visit.
Our Friday didn’t end here, we had the opportunity to take a look around the city-capital and in the evening we relaxed in a purely Bavarian atmosphere.
Then came the sweet Saturday! The sweetness was provided by the “Bucuria” factory’s shop – the well-known Bucuria sweets with a tradition since 1946. We spent an hour there because it was extremely hard to choose what to taste or what to buy for yourself and what as a present. The road back was full of surprises… but better we keep the secret, according to the “What happens in Moldova, stays in Moldova” rule :) Surely we had 3 intense days during which we interacted a lot, shared experiences and views… we met valuable people, amazing people!
Thank you for leading us through this experience and we wish to repeat it in the following years.
Other images, other personalities… same RoofArt!
